Building resilience
- Resilience is the ability to adapt well to difficulty,
trauma, tragedy, threats or stress. Parents and caregivers can help
children learn resilience skills such as managing stress and feelings of
uncertainty.
- Sticking to a daily routine can be comforting to
children who crave structure in their lives. You can encourage children
to create their own routines. Talk with your children. When they have
question, answer them honestly but simply and reassure them with
statements like “I’ll always take care of you” and don’t discount fears
when they tell you about them.
